Hey. Here's the homework. Like it?

Hey. I'm posting while doing my *ugh* homework. Here's the homework: a Short Story. You wanna see it? Here's the finished rough draft.

Secrets Unknown
By: Stardust

Cold air wisped around Stardust’s face. The dark night overshadowed the sky. Stars glittered softly in the distance. All of a sudden, Chipmunks scurried past the crisp pine trees, into the Bunny Empire.
“Attack!” Their cruel leader Swiftsword shouted. Chipmunks stormed towards the Bunnies. Bunnies hopped towards the chipmunks in fury. Trespassers in our territory… I don’t think so, Stardust thought. The small ones trembled in fear as their doom awaited them. Instantly, a Chipmunk hovered Stardust’s sight. Black overshadowed the bright blue eyes. It slashed it’s sharp claws across her side, causing it to bleed furiously. The end was yet to come. Suddenly, Captain Frostphire screeched in pain. Stardust scurried towards her. This was a once in a lifetime chance to heal Frostphire. The head healer Rose was away and she was the only one allowed to heal the Captain. Stardust grabbed a hold of marigold to clear any unwanted infections. She crushed it and sprinkled in on Frostphire’s wound. Frostphire laid unmoving on the ground. Outrage flowed into Stardust’s body. Her twinkling blue eyes glared at the chipmunk. “Nobody messes with my leader!” she shouted in fury. She leaped onto the chipmunk and clawed his eye. It tumbled on the cold, unforgiving ground. “This is our territory!” she hissed. Stardust hobbled toward Captain Frostphire.
“Thank……. You,” Frostphire mumbled. She paused and laid unconscious on the ground. The chipmunks fled from the forest and left the Bunnies alone in despair. Stardust rubbed a dandelion on her wound. She didn’t know it yet, but she was the healer with contact of the ancestors above. The little ones quietly mourned in their hole. Many Bunnies went to Stardust and Sapphire’s hole for medicine. Stardust was sorry for all of the Bunnies that were hurt. Chipmunks were the enemy of the Bunnies, determined for power. They were too ambitious, so that got a hold of them. Stardust quickly decided to get more herbs. She then hopped anxiously into the forest beyond.
“Ugh!” she tumbled down the divider hill between the evil spirited Chipmunks and the peaceful Bunnies. Her Bunny motto will always stay the same, “We’re peaceful, we wait for war to start before destroying everyone.” She rolled and tumbled into the silent mist. Yellow eyes glared at her in the distance. Someone is watching me, and that someone will be lucky to have his remains preserved, she thought. She stared out into the distance. The yellow eyes faded away. She was being watched, but by who? She questioned nervously, pondering in her mind. Who was that? Why is it watching me? Suddenly the terrible thought came in her curious mind, is it a Chipmunk? That she would have to find out by herself. Her nose twitched, a scent was near! I can tell you one thing; it smelled like a rotten apple. She shuddered inwardly at the thought. Despite the rotten scent, she smelled on, anxious to help the Bunnies. She was almost nothing, besides being a healer, what is the point in just healing all of your life? Borrring, she thought. Life is meant to discover and explore, not being cooped up in some hole all of your life near the stench of herbs. She suddenly picked up a fresh scent. Chipmunks are near, she thought. Stardust knew that much. She stared in horror, her whiskers trembling and her body shivering in terror. This was it, the moment of doom.
Mapleshine, a Chipmunk was glaring at her. His yellow eyes were piercing in anger. He was half angry, half curious.
“What are you doing here?” He questioned furiously. He was mistreated, but was not disloyal to the Chipmunk Union.
“I was looking for her-herbs and I tumbled down the divider he-here,” Stardust stammered. Mapleshine glanced at her, examining her to see any guilt. There was none, just anticipation and bravery. Stardust was determined to show no fear, he could tell. “Get out of my property,” He hissed. He suddenly felt sympathetic. She didn’t mean to come here. But Mapleshine knew, his clan would be furious with rage at him. No more sympathy, unless you want your former companions to claw at him.
Stardust suddenly felt relieved. She could tell that the Chipmunk felt sorry for her. That shows weakness, which she would not have again.
“This forest is not yours. You and your so called “friends” just happened to take my parent to who knows where. You want a fight; I’ll give you one you’ll never forget. Get out of my face you foul creature,” Stardust exclaimed, bad memories over flooding her. She was now an orphan that Frostphire took in. And it’s his entire fault, she thought.
Mapleshine was shocked. No one has ever stood up to him like that. He admired her bravery. “Go ahead, claw me. I’m a healer. I can heal MYSELF,” Stardust challenged. Mapleshine stood there stunned. How could something that small think so big? That question was left unanswered. Stardust bolted across the clearing and landed on top of Mapleshine. He scampered out of the way.
What is with this Chipmunk? It wouldn’t dare to fight. It stood in front of her and helplessly toppled onto the ground. It gave her a look of pure pain and misery. She couldn’t help but feel sorry for it. “I’m Stardust,” she blurted. “Healer of the Bunny Empire.” It stood up trembling in pain. “I’m……..Mapleshine……..Warrior for……..The Chipmunk Union,” Mapleshine rasped. He could barely make the words come out. She could tell by his look that he was mistreated already, and was tortured enough before she showed up. Welcome to my world, she thought.
Mapleshine was curious about her. Of all healers she fought the most violently, causing severe bleeding for Mapleshine. Bunnies aren’t as soft as they look, he thought. “You’re an orphan too? My parents……..died,” Mapleshine explained. Somehow he didn’t regret what he just said. Stardust suddenly hopped in front of him.
“Hold up your arm,” She demanded. He held up his arm as blood spattered around his fur, worse than one of those human sprinklers she had once seen on a hot summer day. Stardust was wondering how a chipmunk could be so obedient. Never in her short life has she seen a chipmunk do that before. She crushed the marigold between her paws and rubbed it against Mapleshine’s wound. She limped towards the mint leaves to her side and placed them on the wound. Her eyes widened and she thought suddenly, I betrayed the Bunnies! I’m better road kill than a healer. Stardust sighed in worry. She pleaded that the Bunnies would forgive her, she convinced herself. “I am SO dead,” she panted. Maybe they would forgive her. If only she believed that was true. She then reached for the mint at the edge of a cliff. “Almost……..there,” She cautioned herself. She instantly rolled down the cliff, and let out a piercing scream. This was the end…
Mapleshine listened. A scream was running across the horizon. Only one thing came to his mind. Stardust! Mapleshine leapt to the rescue. His size was too heavy for the limp cliff. He and Stardust tumbled down into the dark mist below.
Claws sheathed, Stardust patted her gaping wound. Where am I? She questioned in her mind. Stardust was at the door of a midnight black cave. “Look!” She shouted. Mapleshine glanced in her direction and followed silently. A small light from above showered the distance. Stardust shivered from the cold as her paws itched in anticipation. Mapleshine awed at the cave as she hopped on. The dark cave suddenly turned moonlight white as her sharp blue eyes transformed into a cream-white color. She noticed that Mapleshine was still the same. This was her destiny. She was in the middle of the cave, its walls of coffee-brown turning clear white. It shimmered in the moonlight. What’s going on? Where are my fears and worries? She continued to question. Rushing water ran down into a stream. Her ancestor’s reflections glittered in the stream. Stardust suddenly rose into the roof of the cave as knowledge swarmed in her brain. The wind whispered through her ear, this is your destiny. Our knowledge is in your hands. Light showered through her paws into the stars above. Stardust floated back down, her lip quivering from fear. The key of destruction was discovered.
Mapleshine blinked his eyes. He had curiosity overshadow his mind. What is happening? He was looking into the cave. The walls sparkled like bright stars above. He gasped. Stardust was FLOATING down. Floating! What just happened? Only one person could know, and that person was Stardust. He was in the state of puzzlement. The only thing he could feel now was his curiosity.
Stardust was now on the ground. She was savoring that moment. She could still see the light shimmering from above, her blue eyes turning to bright white. She could still see her ancestor’s reflections in the river. Stardust opened her eyes to find that she was on the dark brown cave floor instead of still in the cave of clear white. She saw Mapleshine stare at her in wonder. She knew that she couldn’t tell anyone what just happened, not even to Mapleshine. She knew the key of destruction. The only question was... was she going to use it? Her past would be the present, and the present would be her future. That was all she knew so far. What would the Bunnies think? Stardust shuddered in horror at the thought. She knew one thing for sure; Mapleshine was going to ask her billions of questions.
Mapleshine was curious about what was going on. He glanced at Stardust. She shuddered in terror as if she was just in front of a starving fox. “Stardust…..? Stardust?!” He called nervously. Stardust laid on the ground in silence. Pain stabbed at Mapleshine’s heart. He was prepared to grieve. Stardust wobbled onto her paws in the distance. There was hope! Stardust then whimpered silently. What was wrong?
Stardust heard a voice running through her head. It whispered, use it and the chipmunks will be destroyed, but so will bunnies. Use it well, for earth’s destiny is in your hands. Fear not. Those words were constantly reminding her in her head. “Maybe we should get some sleep,” Mapleshine mentioned out of topic. Stardust curled up on the ground and let her questions carry her to sleep. She drifted into a deep sleep dreaming about what happened. She was alone in pitch black darkness. For miles she could only see night. Stardust looked up. A light shined above as she rose. Power streamed into her body. The light traveled, capturing all Bunnies and Chipmunks. She woke trembling in fear. This is not what she wanted. She wanted Chipmunks and Bunnies to come in peace. This was no way to solve a problem. I refuse. That’s it. That’s all she thought. No peace comes from destruction. No destruction comes to peace. Her leader Frostphire’s voice echoed in her head. You did well, Stardust. You did well. Stardust couldn’t help but smile. It was as if she was forced to. Happiness shined into her heart. This was all she had ever wanted. She had a friend, happiness, and wisdom. What else did she need?
